Designing & Ordering

How do I begin designing a piece?

Two ways. Use the AI design chat at /design — write naturally about a person, a feeling, a moment, and it sketches three candidate compositions. Or use the DIY workbench at /diy and build it yourself from our 21-stone library. Either way, mo personally reviews before any work begins. The conversation moves at the pace you need.

Do I need to know what I want?

No. Most wearers come in with a vague feeling — for a person, for an occasion, for themselves — and the AI or DIY helps them shape it. You can also write to mo with nothing more than "for my mother" and she'll write back to ask the right questions.

Can I customize an existing design?

Yes — we encourage it. Choose one of our signature pieces from the Shop, then write to mo about what you'd like adjusted (one stone swapped, a different sizing). mo replies within 24 hours with her suggestion.

Will the AI override my choices?

Never. The AI suggests, the wearer decides, mo reviews. You can refine the AI's suggestions as many times as you'd like. You can also start over completely. We will only craft what you've actually approved.

How long does a piece take to make?

Three to five days in the studio. Then 7-10 days in shipping. Door-to-door is typically two weeks. We send you a photograph of the piece before stringing — your approval is what starts the actual craft.

What if I don't love the photograph?

Then we adjust. Tell us specifically what feels off — a stone too dark, an order not quite right — and we re-arrange and re-photograph. Most pieces take one to two iterations before approval. There's no extra charge for this; it's the work.

Pieces & Materials

Are the stones real?

Yes. All 21 stones in our library are natural — sourced from Brazil, China, Peru, India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Oregon. The Sourcing page lists every origin transparently. We don't use dyed stones, synthetic stones, or glass imitations.

Why only 21 stones?

Because we wanted to know each one well. There are commercial crystal suppliers with hundreds of varieties; their breadth is the opposite of our discipline. The Materials Library documents each of our 21 — what mo looks for, what she avoids, what they pair with.

What's the price range?

USD $148 – $215 for our current signature pieces. Made-to-order. Made-to-design pieces (significantly customized) are priced individually based on stone selection. Our prices include shipping worldwide and lifetime care.

What size will fit me?

We offer XS (14cm) through XL (18cm). Most adult wrists are S or M (15-16cm). If you've never measured, wrap a piece of string around your wrist where you'd wear the bracelet, then measure the string. If you're between sizes, choose the larger — re-sizing later is free.

Can I see what stones are in a piece before buying?

Yes. Every signature piece page lists its exact stones. The Materials Library has detailed notes on each stone. And if you'd like, write to mo and ask — she'll send you a photograph of the actual stones she'd use.

Do you do men's pieces / unisex pieces?

Our pieces aren't gendered by design. The visual decisions — color, weight, stone choice — are about the wearer, not their gender. Quiet Strength, Field Notes, The Reader, and Twilight Hour are worn equally by all genders. Custom pieces always accommodate whoever you are.

Care & Service

How do I clean my bracelet?

Soft cloth, cool water. No soap, no jewelry cleaner, no ultrasonic. Daily wear's natural oils maintain a quiet polish on most stones. The full Care Promise page goes into detail.

Can I wear it in the shower?

Yes. The silk thread will age slightly faster, but that's what our free re-string service is for. Chlorinated pools we recommend against for extended periods (over time can dull some stones); for a single afternoon at the beach, go.

What if the silk breaks?

Send the piece home. We re-string it on fresh silk — same pattern, same number, same piece. Free, always. Most pieces need re-stringing every 12-24 months of regular wear.

My wrist size changed — can you re-size?

Yes. Free. Send it home with a note about your new size. We use the original stones, re-string at the new length, return it. About a 3-4 week turnaround door-to-door.

Can I get a new photograph of my piece years later?

Yes — wearers sometimes ask for this and we love when they do. Send the piece home with a note "for a fresh portrait." We photograph it in current studio light, add the new image to your archive entry, return it. Free.

What if I lose my piece's number card?

Don't worry. Your archive entry is linked to your email at checkout. Write us — we'll send you a digital version. You can also see your collection at /account any time.

Shipping & Returns

Where do you ship?

Worldwide. Most US/EU destinations arrive in 7-10 days. Asia-Pacific in 5-7. Latin America and Africa: 10-14 days depending on customs. Every shipment has tracking.

What about customs duties?

For EU destinations, we handle IOSS — your piece arrives without surprise customs fees. For most other countries, customs duties (if any) are typically minimal for jewelry under $250 and are the recipient's responsibility. Reach out if you have specific questions about your country.

What's your return policy?

Because every piece is made-to-order and reviewed by you in photograph before stringing, returns are very rare. If something is genuinely wrong — broken, not as agreed, materially different from the photograph — write us within 30 days. We re-make or refund, never with friction.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

For an extra fee, yes. Express DHL gets US/EU pieces there in 3-4 days. Email us before placing an order if you need this — there are sometimes constraints based on the receiving country's customs.

Can you ship to a different address?

Yes. At checkout you can specify a separate shipping address. For gifts, you can also opt to have the recipient receive the photograph for approval before stringing — though most gifters keep that for themselves and let the bracelet be a surprise.

How is the piece packaged?

Cream-colored box, linen pouch inside, a small numbered card with the piece's name, a letter from mo (printed, personalized to you), and a studio mark sticker on the outside seal. We've spent more time on the packaging than most brands of our size. It's intentional.

Account & Archive

What is "the archive"?

Every SENMOMO piece has a permanent number — #001, #042, #127, and so on. The archive is the record of every piece we've ever made, kept forever. This journal article explains in detail.

Why should I make an account?

To see your collection, your numbers, your design notes from mo, and your shipping history in one place. To send pieces home for service with one click. To know what was in #042 ten years from now. Sign in at /account with the email you used at checkout.

What if I give my piece to someone else?

The number travels with the piece. Have the new wearer write us with their email and the piece's number — we update the archive entry. The piece's history continues unbroken.

What's the Founding 200?

The first 200 names on our pre-launch list receive piece #001-#200 of their first SENMOMO order. We're holding those numbers. Join the list while it's open.

Will my archive entry survive long-term?

Yes — we've designed for it. The archive is held in two places (working file + backed-up archive), with prepaid long-term cloud storage and inheritance provisions. Read the full philosophy here.

Can I save pieces I'm interested in without buying?

Yes — use the Wishlist. Tap the heart on any piece. The list is saved locally on your device. You can send the list to mo to start a conversation about which piece to commit to.
